About Acapulco Gold
A Mexican sativa landrace with a reputation built in the 1960s, and more often invoked than actually grown.
Acapulco Gold refers to material from the Guerrero region of Mexico, named for the golden colour of well-cured flowers. It became shorthand for quality imports decades before a domestic market existed.
Very little of what carries the name today traces cleanly to the original material. Treat it as a historical reference as much as a cultivar.
