Potential downsides
Commonly reported by consumers, not measured. Effects vary with the person, the batch and its chemistry — the link between terpene profile and effect remains clinically unproven.

Blue Dream is one of the most widely grown cannabis cultivars in North America, and one of the least consistent — the name appears on product from hundreds of farms with little to connect them beyond the label.
What it is
Blue Dream is generally reported as a cross between Blueberry and Haze, emerging in California in the mid-2000s. No single breeder is reliably credited, and the cross has been remade independently several times, which is part of why material sold under the name varies so widely.
Its reputation was built on being forgiving to grow and broadly agreeable to consume, which made it a default stock item for dispensaries through the 2010s. That ubiquity is the main reason the name persists.
Aroma and flavour
Commonly described as sweet and berry-forward, with a herbal note underneath that most people attribute to its Haze parentage. Myrcene and pinene are the terpenes most often associated with it, though the profile differs enough between growers that two jars carrying the same label can smell notably different.
Reported effects
Users typically report a clear-headed, gently stimulating effect rather than a sedating one, which is consistent with its reputation as a daytime cultivar. As with any cultivar, reported effects vary with the individual, the specific batch and its chemistry.
